Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The title says it all. Have a good holidays, although there's all too few days off this year.

While I'm at it, I should probably take a peek into the future too. Since my farseeing skills are rather poor, and I have insight only on very limited fields, I shall stick to the Midgard related topics.

The year 2005 may prove to be a really, really, really exciting one in the field of Midgardism. There are big changes in the tube, starting with the out-march of the filesystem based MidCOM 2.0. There are also very interesting new features creeping into MidCOM, like integrated search engine interface.

Piotras has made some very important patches to the Midgard Core, and continues to struggle with the next generation Midgard - MgdSchema.

The need for proper workflow system is still in the air and if there's time, I'll be taking another good look at the David Schmitter's MidRepository.

Midgard administration should get a lot easier when Bergie will get the Midgard Site Creation Wizard out in the open.

Desktop integration has been planned, and some initial steps have been taken to roll project GNOMEgard on it's way. This will be a very long road but the payback should be more than worth it.

All-in-all, it looks like a very busy and exciting year (again). So, don't forget to load your batteries, and bring an extra can of 99 Oktane if you will, I'll meet you in the middle.
